BigCommerce has strict import requirements: specific Item Types, custom field formats, and Y/N booleans. Most people get it wrong the first few times. Catalogd gets it right the first time.
Products are 'Product', variants are separate rows with their own type. Get the Item Type wrong and BigCommerce either skips the row or creates duplicates.
Allow Purchases? Product Visible? Track Inventory? BigCommerce uses Y and N, not TRUE/FALSE or 1/0. A small thing that causes big import failures.
BigCommerce custom fields have their own column format. Brand, warranty, product condition. Each needs to be formatted exactly right.
